The iconic Water Street Oyster Bar in downtown Corpus Christi, established in 1983, has been a local and tourist favorite for close to 40 years. In 2018, Water Street Restaurants decided it was time for a complete front and back of house remodel. Working with MDR Advertising, we concepted a branding and interiors redesign. Once an old transmission shop, we maintained the industrial, warehouse feel with the double height dining room and loft space, exposed ceiling, and original D’Hanis brick. To complement the industrial ambiance, we grounded the rest of the design in the building’s 1940’s origins. Timeless subway tile, round marble tables, custom Art Deco style banquettes, and classic lighting were some of the finishing touches.
